Sea Glass Light Boxes...

I started making 3D light boxes last year and so far they have been a hit!  These take a long time to make - but are well worth it.  The subtle low watt lighting illuminates the light box... creating a soft glow - perfect for a night light!  Each light box is signed & dated... and is a great gift for friends and family!

It's Show Time! Is Your Banner Ready?

Well - that time of the year is fast approaching for many of us that do shows. When I decided to dedicate a lot of time to out door vending events, I knew I wanted a professional banner for my business. I have really tried to stay handmade for all my marketing items and supporting other artists.

I came across Polymer on Etsy - and was astounded by the "Bang for my Buck" that I could get from Polymer and the quality that was delivered. I submitted my logo (as a vector image) to Paula and she was off ready to create!

For $100 (because they were doing the designing) I got a 5foot W x 2foot H 13oz. vinyl banner with hems and grommets - full color long term outdoor resistant printing. Made to last. Can't beat that!

So if you are looking for a quality, affordable banner for your shows - Check out Polymer on Etsy!

Momma... Do I Really Look Like a Turtle??

Let's start March 2009 off with something cute and funny - People who look like animals...

OK... this is meant to be cute and funny - not harsh. So - I have selected a picture of my 4 year old daughter when she was about 5 months. I remember when she would smile and make her funny, excited face - thinking..."what does she remind me of..."

Low and behold it came to me - a turtle! When I was showing this to my daughter she said "We don't look alike - I don't have paws!" You have to admit this is too darn cute and man do they look alike!

Well, I have to say - she looks nothing like a turtle anymore...

New Collection Listed on Etsy: "The Shores of Essex" Collection

I have just added a piece of my newest collection "The Shores of Essex" Collection to my Etsy store. This is a beautiful necklace with brown/bronze freshwater pearls, chocolate and aqua sea glass, bronze swavorski crystals, sterling findings, bali spacers and sterling silver .999 Karen Hill Tribe starfish that I purchased directly from the Hill Tribe in Thailand. I always try to cut out the "middle man" when purchasing my Hill Tribe - so 100% of the profit is returned to the community. I most likely will be making a bracelet and earrings to match as well.

Sea Glass Donations for Fundraisers

Wow - it has been a couple of years since my last post. My poor forgotten blog. So here I am full of new ideas and events of the past two years.

So much has happened and so much time has passed. Well - I wanted to start my blog off on some great fundraisers that I am taking part in and past ones as well.

I have just finished my limited edition and original design - "St. Barth's Collection. " This line reminds me of Caribbean waters and funky, sophisticated and posh flavor of the Island.

I created a funky cluster necklace with freshwater pearls, vintage glass bell beads, swavorski crystals and sea glass in shades of aqua and white. This stunning necklace features a "cluster" asymmetrical design in sterling silver. Matching cluster earrings with handmade ear wires complete this set.

This set will be donated to Underdog ResQ to raise money to place good dogs into homes before they are euthanized. They are having a fundraiser even in June - Urban BBQ Benefit to raise money for their cause. This fundraising event will take place June 22, 2008 - 6PM-9PM- 33 Restaurant & Lounge - 33 Stanhope St. - Boston, MA - 617-572-3311 - Visit http://www.underdogresq.org/ for more information.

This April I will be submitting a donation to The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival that will be holding an event April 12 at the Knights of Colombus in Salem on the Salem Common featuring Ken Clark Trio, The Mystics featuring Bobby Keyes and Los Sugar Kings, live auction, raffles etc. I will (as I did last summer) be a vendor at this years Salem Jazz and Soul Festival held in August at the Salem Willows - Salem, MA. Visit http://www.salemjazzsoul.com/ for more information.

Lastly, I donated a necklace from my "Mermaid Tears of Africa" collection that blends the natural element of African turquoise and recycled element of sea glass. This piece was donated to the South Shore Buddy Walk to raise awareness for down syndrome and inclusion in the classroom. I have a beautiful 2 yr old niece that has down syndrome so I was more than happy to donate to this event - which was a huge success in October of 2007.
